1970 — 1994
NMC took its start as an entrepreneurial venture in 1970 when Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh launched his firm in Karachi. Soon enough, the company grew into National Machinery Corporation and established its repute as a reliable importer of agricultural equipment. Sighting the success of the business, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Shaikh set-up an assembly line in Lahore to start the local assembly of imported parts. This idea was so successful that Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh moved his business to Lahore in 1992 and established the retail network of the company by setting-up two showrooms at Brandreth road Lahore. The company’s commitment to quality enabled it to attain the distinctive position of a market leader to capture the most part of the agricultural-equipment market and the company’s single-cylinder diesel engines gained popularity across the agricultural community of the country.
1995 — 2001
To expand the company’s area of operations, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Shaikh launched a trading company namely Mukhtar & Sons during the year 1995 and started dealing in imported tiles, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Over the years, the company’s product line-up expanded to imported ceramic and porcelain tiles, cabinet sheets, pesticides, diesel and gasoline engines, water pumps, alternators, generators, inverters, batteries, and solar panels. The year 2000 introduced the company to the textile industry after the company started its textile mills under the label Naveed Brothers Textile Mills. To operations of the aforesaid textile mill are supported by 164 Sulzer Shuttle-less looms allowing the company to export greige woven, dyed, and printed textile products to the international market. Continuing the tradition, the company’s name is synonymous with quality and Naveed Brothers textile mills have been setting new standards of excellence in domestic, as well as international market.
2001 — to date
To expand its area of import/export operations, the company launched another entity namely Amir Traders in 2002 that has also been successful with its intended operations. Ever since its inception, the company has maintained its focus on the quality of its products and services that has helped us to grow into a financially stable group of companies. The NMC Group has been a vital contributor to the local market by supplying the quality equipment and services that are an integral part of their operations.
